Description

Crispy Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts are a quick, flavorful side dish perfect for weeknight dinners, holiday meals, or cozy evenings. With golden-brown edges and a tender interior, these sprouts are packed with flavor and easy to prepare using your air fryer. This recipe transforms Brussels sprouts into a crave-worthy dish even picky eaters will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

  • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • Optional: 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese or a drizzle of balsamic glaze for serving

Instructions

  • Rinse the Brussels sprouts under cold water and trim the stem ends. Remove any yellow or damaged outer leaves. Slice each sprout in half lengthwise.

  • Place the halved sprouts in a large bowl. Add olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat evenly.

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.

  • Arrange the seasoned sprouts in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding.

  • Cook for 12–15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even crisping.

  • Check for golden-brown, crispy edges and tender centers. Cook an additional 2–3 minutes if desired.

  • Transfer the sprouts to a serving dish. Optionally, sprinkle with Parmesan or drizzle with balsamic glaze. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use fresh, firm Brussels sprouts for the best results.

  • Halve the sprouts evenly for uniform cooking.

  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if needed.

  • Shake the basket halfway through cooking for even crispiness.

  • Seasonings can be adjusted or customized with smoked paprika, chili flakes, or garlic powder.

  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated in the air fryer for 3–5 minutes.
