Ingredients
-
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
-
3/4 cup granulated sugar
-
1 large egg
-
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
-
2 cups all-purpose flour
-
1/4 teaspoon salt
-
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-
2–3 tablespoons milk (if needed for consistency)
Optional for decoration:
-
Sprinkles
-
Coarse sugar
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
-
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
-
Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
-
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually add to the butter mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms. Add milk if needed for a pipeable consistency.
-
Transfer the dough to a cookie press fitted with your desired disc, or a piping bag with a large star tip.
-
Pipe cookies onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 1 inch apart. Add sprinkles or coarse sugar if desired.
-
Bake for 8–10 minutes, until edges are lightly golden. Avoid overbaking to maintain a tender texture.
-
Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 3–5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
-
Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to one week.
