A warm, shareable take on the classic Italian-style sub, baked into soft sliders perfect for game day or casual gatherings.
Ingredients
- Slider rolls – 12 rolls (about 450 g)
- Sliced beef salami – 200 g
- Sliced turkey ham – 200 g
- Provolone cheese slices – 200 g
- Roasted red bell peppers, sliced – 150 g
- Banana peppers – 100 g
- Red onion, thinly sliced – 1 medium (about 120 g)
- Unsalted butter, melted – 85 g (6 tablespoons)
- Olive oil – 15 ml (1 tablespoon)
- Garlic, minced – 3 cloves (about 9 g)
- Dried oregano – 2 teaspoons
- Dried basil – 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder – 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper – ½ teaspoon
- Salt – ¼ teaspoon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and prepare a baking dish.
- Slice rolls horizontally and place the bottom half in the dish.
- Layer beef salami and turkey ham evenly.
- Add roasted peppers, banana peppers, and red onion.
- Top with provolone cheese.
- Place the top half of the rolls over the filling.
- Mix melted butter, olive oil, garlic, herbs, salt, and pepper.
- Brush mixture over rolls.
- Cover and bake for 20 minutes, then uncover and bake 10–15 minutes until golden.
- Rest briefly, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
These sliders can be assembled up to a day in advance and baked just before serving. Drain vegetables well to avoid excess moisture, and adjust seasonings to taste for a personalized finish.
