Description

A comforting, crowd-pleasing dish of tender meatballs slow-cooked in a rich BBQ sauce, perfect for parties and gatherings.


Ingredients

  • Ground beef – 2 pounds
  • Breadcrumbs – 1 cup
  • Milk – 1/2 cup
  • Large eggs – 2
  • Onion, finely chopped – 1 medium (about 1 cup)
  • Garlic, minced – 3 cloves
  • Salt – 1 1/2 teaspoons
  • Black pepper – 1 teaspoon
  • Smoked paprika – 1 teaspoon
  • BBQ sauce – 2 cups
  • Tomato sauce – 1 cup
  • Brown sugar – 1/4 cup
  • Worcestershire-style sauce (non-alcoholic) – 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder – 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Combine breadcrumbs and milk in a large bowl and let soak for 2 minutes.
  2. Add ground beef, eggs, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Mix gently.
  3. Shape into 1 1/2-inch meatballs.
  4. Brown meatballs in a lightly greased skillet for 2–3 minutes per side.
  5. Place meatballs in the crockpot.
  6. Mix BBQ sauce, tomato sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire-style sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  7. Pour sauce over meatballs and stir gently.
  8. Cook on low for 4–5 hours or on high for 2–3 hours.
  9. Serve warm.

Notes

These meatballs can be prepared ahead of time and reheated in the crockpot. Serve as an appetizer, slider filling, or main dish with your favorite sides.
