Ingredients

900 g ground beef

1 cup (60 g) breadcrumbs

3/4 cup (180 ml) milk

1 medium onion, finely chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 large eggs

3 tablespoons ketchup

1 tablespoon Worcestershire-style sauce

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon dried thyme

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons butter

250 g mushrooms, sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 cups (480 ml) beef broth

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease a loaf pan or line a baking sheet.

In a bowl, combine breadcrumbs and milk. Let soak for 2 minutes.

Add ground beef, onion, garlic, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire-style sauce, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and thyme. Mix gently.

Shape the mixture into a loaf and place in the prepared pan.

Bake for 50–60 minutes until fully cooked. Remove and let rest.

Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet. Add mushrooms and cook until softened.

Stir in garlic and flour. Cook for 1 minute.

Gradually add beef broth, stirring until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.

Slice meatloaf and serve topped with mushroom gravy.
