Description

A comforting, flavorful one-pan chicken dish made with honey, garlic, and a savory sauce that comes together easily for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • Chicken thighs or chicken breasts – 1 ½ pounds (680 g), boneless and skinless
  • Olive oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic cloves – 6 cloves, minced
  • Honey – â…“ cup (80 ml)
  • Low-sodium soy sauce – ¼ cup (60 ml)
  • Chicken broth – ½ cup (120 ml)
  • Apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar – 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper – ½ teaspoon
  • Paprika – 1 teaspoon
  • Red pepper flakes – ¼ teaspoon (optional)
  • Cornstarch – 1 tablespoon
  • Water – 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh parsley or green onions – for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken dry and season with black pepper and paprika.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chicken for 4–5 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.
  3. Reduce heat to medium and sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add honey, soy sauce, chicken broth, vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Stir well.
  5. Return chicken to the pan and simmer for 8–10 minutes until fully cooked.
  6. Mix cornstarch and water, add to the pan, and simmer for 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Garnish and serve hot.

Notes

Use low-sodium soy sauce to control saltiness. Adjust sauce thickness with additional broth or cornstarch slurry as needed. This dish stores well in the refrigerator for up to three days.
