A comforting, flavorful one-pan chicken dish made with honey, garlic, and a savory sauce that comes together easily for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- Chicken thighs or chicken breasts – 1 ½ pounds (680 g), boneless and skinless
- Olive oil – 2 tablespoons
- Garlic cloves – 6 cloves, minced
- Honey – ⅓ cup (80 ml)
- Low-sodium soy sauce – ¼ cup (60 ml)
- Chicken broth – ½ cup (120 ml)
- Apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar – 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper – ½ teaspoon
- Paprika – 1 teaspoon
- Red pepper flakes – ¼ teaspoon (optional)
- Cornstarch – 1 tablespoon
- Water – 2 tablespoons
- Fresh parsley or green onions – for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Pat the chicken dry and season with black pepper and paprika.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chicken for 4–5 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium and sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add honey, soy sauce, chicken broth, vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Stir well.
- Return chicken to the pan and simmer for 8–10 minutes until fully cooked.
- Mix cornstarch and water, add to the pan, and simmer for 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Garnish and serve hot.
Notes
Use low-sodium soy sauce to control saltiness. Adjust sauce thickness with additional broth or cornstarch slurry as needed. This dish stores well in the refrigerator for up to three days.
