Description

These Perfect Raspberry Swirl Spritz Cookies are delicate, buttery, and full of holiday charm. With a tender texture and a sweet-tart raspberry swirl, they are perfect for festive gatherings, gift-giving, or cozy winter evenings. Inspired by classic spritz cookies and family traditions, this recipe brings a touch of elegance and vibrant flavor to your cookie tray, making every bite a memorable treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/3 cup raspberry jam (seedless preferred)

  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.

  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

  • Add the egg and vanilla extract and beat until fully incorporated, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until the dough forms. Avoid overmixing.

  • Warm the raspberry jam slightly if it is thick, making it easier to swirl.

  • Fit your cookie press with your desired decorative disc and fill it with dough. Press cookies onto the prepared baking sheets, adding small spoonfuls of jam along the center.

  • Use a toothpick or skewer to gently swirl the jam into the dough, creating a marbled effect.

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.

  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • Optional: Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure butter and egg are at room temperature for a smooth dough.

  • Avoid over-swirl the jam to maintain cookie shapes.

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.

  • For extra flavor, try adding a small amount of almond extract or cocoa powder to the dough.
