Description
These crispy air fryer fried pickles are tangy, crunchy, and incredibly easy to make at home using simple ingredients and minimal oil.
Ingredients
- Pickle chips – 2 cups (about 240 g), drained and dried
- All-purpose flour – ½ cup (60 g)
- Eggs – 2 large
- Milk – ¼ cup (60 ml)
- Breadcrumbs – ¾ cup (45 g)
- Cornmeal – ¼ cup (40 g)
- Garlic powder – 1 teaspoon (3 g)
- Onion powder – 1 teaspoon (3 g)
- Paprika – ½ teaspoon (1 g)
- Salt – ½ teaspoon (3 g)
- Black pepper – ¼ teaspoon (1 g)
- Cooking spray – as needed
Instructions
- Pat pickle chips dry thoroughly with paper towels.
- Place flour in one bowl. Whisk eggs and milk in a second bowl. Combine breadcrumbs, cornmeal, and seasonings in a third bowl.
- Coat each pickle chip in flour, dip in egg mixture, then coat in breadcrumb mixture.
- Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
- Spray basket lightly and arrange pickle chips in a single layer.
- Spray tops lightly and cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
- Serve immediately for best texture.
Notes
For extra crispiness, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket and always dry the pickles well before breading.
