Description

These crispy air fryer fried pickles are tangy, crunchy, and incredibly easy to make at home using simple ingredients and minimal oil.

Ingredients

  • Pickle chips – 2 cups (about 240 g), drained and dried
  • All-purpose flour – ½ cup (60 g)
  • Eggs – 2 large
  • Milk – ¼ cup (60 ml)
  • Breadcrumbs – ¾ cup (45 g)
  • Cornmeal – ¼ cup (40 g)
  • Garlic powder – 1 teaspoon (3 g)
  • Onion powder – 1 teaspoon (3 g)
  • Paprika – ½ teaspoon (1 g)
  • Salt – ½ teaspoon (3 g)
  • Black pepper – ¼ teaspoon (1 g)
  • Cooking spray – as needed

Instructions

  1. Pat pickle chips dry thoroughly with paper towels.
  2. Place flour in one bowl. Whisk eggs and milk in a second bowl. Combine breadcrumbs, cornmeal, and seasonings in a third bowl.
  3. Coat each pickle chip in flour, dip in egg mixture, then coat in breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  5. Spray basket lightly and arrange pickle chips in a single layer.
  6. Spray tops lightly and cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
  7. Serve immediately for best texture.

Notes

For extra crispiness, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket and always dry the pickles well before breading.
