These homemade churro bites are a fun, quick, and healthier twist on a classic treat. Made in the air fryer with minimal oil, they come out crispy on the outside and soft on the inside—perfect for a sweet snack, dessert, or a weekend family treat.
Ingredients

1 cup whole wheat flour (or all-purpose flour)

1 cup water

2 tablespoons coconut oil (or unsalted butter)

1 tablespoon sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

2 tablespoons sugar (for coating)

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Cooking spray or a bit of melted coconut oil
Instructions

In a small saucepan, heat water, coconut oil, sugar, and salt over medium heat until it begins to simmer.

Remove from heat and quickly stir in flour until a smooth dough forms. Let it cool for 5 minutes.

Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla until fully combined.

Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe small bite-sized pieces into the air fryer basket, leaving space between each.

Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown.

Mix cinnamon and sugar in a bowl. Toss warm churro bites in the mixture until fully coated.

Serve warm with optional dipping sauces like chocolate or caramel.
