Ingredients
-
1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
-
¾ cup (180ml) honey
-
1 large egg
-
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
-
2 ½ cups (310g) all-purpose flour
-
½ teaspoon baking powder
-
¼ teaspoon salt
-
Optional: colored sugar or sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and honey until light and fluffy.
-
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
-
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing on low speed until a smooth dough forms.
-
Prepare a cookie press with the desired shape disc, or fit a piping bag with a star tip and fill with the dough.
-
Press or pipe the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing cookies about 1 inch apart.
-
Optionally, sprinkle colored sugar or sprinkles on top of each cookie.
-
Bake for 8–10 minutes, until edges just begin to turn golden.
-
Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
-
Use room temperature butter for a smoother dough and softer cookies.
-
Measure flour correctly by spooning into a cup and leveling with a knife to avoid dense cookies.
-
Avoid overmixing the dough to maintain a tender texture.
-
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or freeze for up to three months.
-
Decorate with chocolate drizzle, colored sugar, or edible glitter to customize for holidays or special occasions.
