- 2 lb (900 g) sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 3 tablespoons (45 g) unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup (240 ml) beef broth
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) Worcestershire-style sauce
- 2 tablespoons (25 g) brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) water
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Place the steak pieces evenly in the bottom of the crockpot.
- In a small bowl, whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire-style sauce, brown sugar, and black pepper.
- Pour the mixture over the steak, then add the minced garlic and butter on top.
- Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or until the steak is tender.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth.
- Stir the slurry into the crockpot, cover, and cook for an additional 15–20 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Gently stir to coat the steak bites evenly and serve warm.

- Sirloin is recommended for the best balance of tenderness and structure.
- Avoid overcooking to keep the steak bites from breaking apart.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or vegetables to soak up the sauce.
