Description

Tender, slow-cooked steak bites simmered in a rich, savory sauce for an easy and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lb (900 g) sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 3 tablespoons (45 g) unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup (240 ml) beef broth
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) Worcestershire-style sauce
  • 2 tablespoons (25 g) brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) water
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the steak pieces evenly in the bottom of the crockpot.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire-style sauce, brown sugar, and black pepper.
  3. Pour the mixture over the steak, then add the minced garlic and butter on top.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or until the steak is tender.
  5. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth.
  6. Stir the slurry into the crockpot, cover, and cook for an additional 15–20 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Gently stir to coat the steak bites evenly and serve warm.

Notes

  • Sirloin is recommended for the best balance of tenderness and structure.
  • Avoid overcooking to keep the steak bites from breaking apart.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or vegetables to soak up the sauce.
