- 1 cup warm water (110°F / 43°C)
- 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 cups water
- ¼ cup baking soda
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1–2 teaspoons coarse salt
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 1–2 minutes.
- Add flour, salt, and oil. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead dough for 2–3 minutes, then divide and shape into ropes. Cut into bite-sized pieces.
- Bring 4 cups of water to a boil, add baking soda, and briefly boil pretzel bites for 20–30 seconds.
- Place on a lined baking sheet, brush with butter, and sprinkle with salt.
- Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 8–10 minutes until golden.
